Different shapes of product
This isn't a like-for-like fight. Teal is a workspace — you go to it, manage your search inside it, and its extension mainly feeds postings into the system. Coverpilot is a tool — it lives on the posting you're already reading, does one job in a click, and gets out of the way. Neither shape is better in the abstract; they suit different people.
What Teal does better
Its job tracker is the best in this category, and we don't compete with it at all. If you're juggling 40 applications across stages, needing to remember who you followed up with and when, Teal earns its place. Its resume builder with templates is also a real product — we deliberately don't build resumes from scratch; we rework the one you already have.
What we do differently
The core features are in the free tier. On Teal, the match scorer and AI cover letters are the paywall. On Coverpilot they're what you get for free, five times, before deciding anything.
No account, and the resume stays local. Teal is cloud-based by design — that's what makes the tracker sync. Coverpilot has no accounts at all: your resume sits in your browser's storage, gets sent only at the moment of generation, and is never stored on our side.
