Why the score matters more than it should
Before a person reads your application, it usually lands in an applicant tracking system. Recruiters then search that system for the skills and titles written in their own job description. If the posting says "A/B testing" and your resume says "split experiments", you don't appear in that search — however qualified you are.
That's the whole game this tool measures: not whether you're good, but whether the machine can tell. It's a mechanical problem, which is good news, because mechanical problems have mechanical fixes.
How to read your result
- 70% and up — your resume already speaks this posting's language. Send it.
- 45–70% — the most common result, and the most fixable. You probably have the experience and are describing it in different words than the posting uses.
- Under 45% — either the resume needs genuine tailoring for this role, or the role is further from your background than it looked.
What to do with the missing list
Go through it and mark every item you have actually done. Those are free points: rewrite the relevant bullet using the posting's wording instead of your own. Anything you haven't done, leave alone — inventing it gets you an interview you cannot survive. If most of the list is genuinely foreign to you, that's useful information too, and it's about the role rather than the resume.

Is this ATS resume checker really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no email, no card. You get several checks a day, which is enough to test a resume against the postings you're actually applying to.
Do you store my resume?
No. Your resume is used to produce this one result and is not saved to our servers. We keep an anonymous count of how many checks come from an IP address, purely to stop abuse.
What is a good ATS match score?
Above 70% means your resume genuinely speaks the posting's language and is worth sending. Between 45% and 70% you're a plausible candidate whose resume is underselling it. Below 45%, either the resume needs real tailoring or the role is a stretch.
Will this get me past the ATS?
It shows you what an ATS keyword search sees. Adding the terms you honestly cover is the single highest-return edit you can make. It won't manufacture experience you don't have, and you shouldn't want it to — that falls apart in the interview.
